Alive and Kicking...!

Rockstar Curling is alive and well, and we continue to move our planning, logistics forward with our sponsoring partners. As most of you know, the Beijing Summer Games are approaching rapidly, and a great deal of attention has been devoted to deal with the many moving parts around the Summer Games. In respect to the resources required, we will be holding our try-outs after the Beijing Games have been completed... while this will reduce the training time for the selected Teams, it will allow all of us involved behind the scenes a better opportunity to put our full resources against the program. It will still follow the same format, and we are looking forward to an amazing experience for everyone...

We appreciate all of the entries and inquiries we have received, and continue to receive each day. Please check back here for the times, locations of all the tryouts. They will be announced shortly after the conclusion of the Summer Games

The tryout applications keep rolling in - Thank You!!  The enthusiasm has been great, keep them coming in and please send the link to try out to your friends. Again, this open to both experienced and non-curlers...! Its going to be fun...

We continue to organize the logistics of the show, and will have more information on the the tryout locations and dates in the weeks to come.

Bring it on... East!

Ok, Alaska has made their point for hosting a Rockstar Curling Try-out...! We continue to receive more e-mails and inquiries from Alaska everyday.  Seattle, San Francisco and the people from across the Lone Star state, especially from Dallas and Houston are all signing up... its great to see that enthusiasm! Keep it coming!!

We need more people signing up from the North East!!  There are some great curling communities, and many have started to have people sign up, but man, the western region is killing you!!!  Tell everyone in your club, and your non-curling friends alike to sign up and try out!

The tryouts will be a fun day for everyone! Even if you don't get chosen to be on the Rockstar team, the chance to get on TV, and the 'festival' that will surround the tryouts will make it a fun day for everyone. Bring your friends, get them to tryout...!

And to all the people from Florida who have signed up - Great to hear from you!!  We are arranging a try-out in Miami - remember, you don't have to be an experienced curler to try out, so you never know!! Tell your friends and keep the applications coming in!

Busy Weekend for Applications...!

Thanks to all of you who submitted your application forms this weekend. In addition to the applications, we are getting lots of questions and interest from around the country. We are getting lots of inquiries to hold a tryout up in beautiful Alaska!  The next most requested Tryout location???   - Texas! We are even getting a few from the Sunshine State of Florida.

We are still determining final Tryout locations, so if you want us to come to your State, let us know..! And remember, if you haven't filled out your tryout application yet, get it in there... all the information we are receiving from the applicants is certainly helping us plan our logistics.

Based on the applications we have so far, the judges are going to have a difficult time, and TV viewers across America are going to meet some very talented and interesting people...!!  Maybe YOU will be one of them...!!!

Getting a Great Response!

Lots of people have been filling in the application form to try out!  All kinds of people from ranging from College Students, professionals, housewives, construction workers, executives, etc.  - we even have had an "Astro Physics Engineer" sign up to try out - (Yes, a real Rocket Scientist!)

We have applications from Texas, Maine, California and all points in between. We have had people sign up in their early twenties and all ages up to a gentlemen in his 60's...!  We have had more men than women sign up so far, so ladies, get involved!! Along with a Men's team, we are going to choose 5 women to train for their chance at the "Olympic Dream"  Fill out an application - it could be you...!

We have had an even mix of both experienced curlers and people who want a chance at the "Olympic Dream" and want to try the sport...  lots of non-curling, athletic people have filled in an application. This could be their big chance at Olympic glory!

Tell your friends and share the website with them...  The try outs are going to be very interesting and lots of fun for everyone...   stay tuned for more info over the next few weeks...

We're in USA Today!

Check out the story in todays USA today by Sports Television columnist, Michael Hiestand. (Sport section page 3). Things are ramping up, the media is taking notice, and we hope you will come out and try-out to possibly become an Olympian!

We'd like to answer your questions as quickly as possible so come back often for our updates.

So, to start, no, no coaches have been selected yet, but we are in conversation with a number of them, and they are all excellent!

No, this is not a celebrities only show, in fact, it is about everyday people who have always dreamed of possibly competing in the Olympics. This is your chance to make this dream come alive!

We think people of all ages and ability will, and should, come out to try and get on our show.. it will be fun for everyone!!

The show will chronicle the try-outs and the journey of the selected athletes as they train and prepare to enter the Curling Olympic Trials process.

If you are a Curler - let us know what you think, if you haven't curled before, this could be your opportunity to learn a great sport!!  who knows, maybe you have what it takes...!!
